In 2023 when the new Liberty Township Trustee took over the fire department.  The number one goal of the Trustee and the Fire Chief was to bring back our Advanced Life Support services.  In other words, reestablish the Paramedic level service that was suspended 2019 due to a lack of funding.  Back in 2023 because of the limited budget, we purchased used/refurbished equipment to get the program in-service quickly in the fall 2023.  

Since that time, our ambulance has been staffed 24/7.  Most shifts have been staffed with at least one paramedic and one EMT.  Because of this, the need to receive mutual aid on every ALS call has nearly been eliminated.  In fact, our mutual aid given has increased dramatically.  Assisting our neighboring communities has become a regular occurrence.  All the while, our own community has been growing causing a significant increase in demand for service.  

The annual growth in demand for services has created a situation where major upgrade in equipment was vital.  The Township signed a 3 year agreement to purchase over $150,000 of new, state of the art EMS equipment.  FDLT is proud to announce the purchase of two new Stryker LIFEPAK 35 cardiac monitor/defibrillators and one new LUCAS 3 chest compression device.  The new cardiac monitors replace our old LIFEPAK monitor/defibrillators, which have reached the end of their recommended service life.  The new units offer enhanced technology with better monitoring and diagnostic capability. This upgrade is the latest in our effort to improve our ALS program to meet the need for services.
